3 Simple Ways to Stay Focused and
Avoid Burning Out

It begins with a simple decision of listening to my body that makes me aware about the approaching ‘burn zone’. Breath, Water and Nature are the best remedies for bringing yourself back from the brink.

1. Connect with Your Breath:

When any distraction and stress accumulates, breathe through it, watch it come and go.
When the stress of performing at work or running your venture becomes suffocating, breathe through it, watch it come and go.
Alternate nostril breathing (Anuloma Viloma) and rapid belly breath (Bhastrika Pranayama) are excellent ways to claim your gift and energy back.

2. Stay Hydrated:

Drink plenty of water and better still if you could chant your favorite mantra or prayer before drinking water. It has miraculous ways to refresh and retain the impressions of your intent.

3. Get in Touch with Nature:

Get out of the concrete building and take a walk in the park. Hug a tree or observe a flower closely. Inhale the freshness of the foliage and green meadows around. This is best done during the early hours of the morning.

“You should meditate for 20 minutes everyday and if you are too busy to do that you should do it for one hour”

Remember, that the road to success is not a sprint, it’s a marathon.

Other ways to optimize your body and mind for success:

  • Having designated periods of rest: Set aside a whole day, like Sunday, as your rest day and spend it with your loved ones and activities that energise you. Be fully present when you are having rest.
  • Practising mindfulness: When the feeling of stress surfaces, be aware of it and take it into your hands by breathing, and letting go of the suffocating feeling.
  • Focus on 80/20 rule: 80% of your efforts produce 20% of the results, highlight some of the most important tasks of your day, and work to complete three of them.
  • Have a workout routine: Find at least 20-30 minutes every day, and perform a workout routine that leaves you feeling energized and productive at the end of a day’s work. Keep changing the activities to beat the boredom. Its an investment with rich ROI.
  • Track your phone usage with apps available and gamify to cut it down incrementally.
